We understand your hesitation.
Watching videos helps you quickly gauge if someone has the right energy and fit, much faster than text profiles. It's like recruitment; CVs don't convey what a quick meeting does. We insist on video submissions to make selecting the right people easier, faster, and more efficient for you. The initial fear is worth the benefit!
Your other option is to be a guest on our podcast where one of our team interviews you. If that's more comfortable for you, get in touch.

The short answer is that you won't know if you don't try. BUT, we know from experience that having a co-founder makes the process of starting and building a company so much easier and rewarding and gives you a much greater chance of success.
For now, try not to dwell on whether you have the self-belief to build a business and focus on connecting with other people on Co-Founder Connect. You'll find that if you keep talking to people then eventually you'll find someone who makes you feel calm and confident. Once you've found someone like that, spend time with them. Start brainstorming ideas together. Ask us if you want more ideas on what to discuss and how to make progress.
PLUS, which of these would you rather be saying when you're 90 years old:
a. "I always wanted to start a business and I gave it a go."
b. "I always wanted to start a business and I never tried."
-
Honestly it would be weird if you weren't feeling a bit scared.
People often think they are scared when actually it's a combination of multiple emotions including being very excited about the chance of doing something they've thought about doing for years.
If you'd like to talk then get in touch via the Contact Form and book a free chat with one of our team. We are incredibly nice and very experienced.

Ideas are worth next to nothing. It's all about execution.
If you aren't talking to people about your idea then you aren't getting feedback, you are limiting your ability to achieve Product Market Fit as quickly as possible and you're also limiting your ability to find the best talent and investors.
Some people do choose to build their companies in 'Stealth Mode' where they do keep their concept under wraps. This may be due to a focus on securing patents or intellectual property protection before going public.
-
Completely understandable, don't worry!
Your co-founder video and profile will only be visible by other people who are part of the Co-Founder Connect community.
We don't showcase anyone from our community in our social media channels without first getting their permission.
The main thing is that we want you to be making progress on your journey to doing what energises you, so if you've still got concerns about joining the community because of privacy issues then get in touch and let's have a chat about what else we can do to help you make progress but also sleep easy :)

Item descYou can study the theory of how to start a business forever and you still won't really have a clue how to do it until you start one.
Focus on finding someone to work with who makes you feel great, energised, supported, challenged.
Start building little ideas and conducting experiments together.ription

Doesn't matter.
As mentioned above, focus on finding someone to work with who makes you feel great.
Your co-founder should be someone you can be totally open with. You should feel comfortable saying "I have all the energy in the world for building a company but I have zero idea of what the business should be."
Talk about it together.
Take the pressure off. You don't have to come up with the next SpaceX. Start as small as you possibly can.
If all else fails, go on to ChatGPT right now and type this:
"Act as the best entrepreneur coach in the world. I really want to start a business with my co-founder but we don't have any ideas. Give us advice on what to do next."
-
Take. a. breath.
If you've got the kind of mind that thinks 47 steps ahead then that's cool. In many ways it's a bonus because you can forecast what might be on the horizon for your business.
Talk to people you know who bring out the best in you.
Put a support structure in place. Maybe you could book to see your therapist or a business coach once a week in the early stages of meeting potential co-founders or starting your project.
Think about your values. One of mine is to imagine myself with a friend in a pub when I'm 90 years old reflecting on my life. I'd want to be proud of everything I did. I wouldn't feel proud if I hadn't taken up the opportunity to create things, like a business. So that's why I continue to build companies even though it scares the cr*p out of me at times.

No.
Raising money is essential for some companies, and if you've watched every episode of Dragon's Den and Shark Tank and you just love the idea of pitching to investors then go for it.
But don't be one of those companies that raises money because you think you should. Lots of business models, and lots of founders don't need to. Raising money from investors can be incredibly stressful and obviously they then own a portion of your business and often have a say in how it's run.
If you'd like to talk about whether raising money is right for you then get in touch with us.
